Forge supporting Hackney Lunch Clubs to connect with local businesses.

See how we're working with Hackney Lunch Clubs to help develop partnerships with local enterprises with the aim of securing additional long-term, reliable funding for this vital local community initiative.

In and around Hackney there are a number of fantastic lunch clubs that provide regular meals and support for the elderly community. I've been lucky enough to visit several of them over the past year or so and it has been incredible to see the great work they're doing and the impact they have on so many people in the community. The impact the lunch clubs have on the lives of elderly people in Hackney is huge.

The trouble is, the lunch clubs are reliant on funding sources outside of their control. There's this ever-present feeling that a budget revision (however slight) is just around the corner which would put yet more financial pressure on these important pillars of the local community and affect their ability to operate to the same extent. The existing funding paths are hugely appreciated and without them, the lunch clubs couldn't exist. But nothing is guaranteed forever.

That's why we've taken the initiative at Forge to try and help the Hackney Lunch Clubs to partner with local businesses. We want to open up new funding channels to support the existing ones.

By connecting Hackney Lunch Clubs with local businesses, we aim to address their funding needs and ensure their long-term sustainability.

Our goal is to create a win-win situation where businesses can fulfil their corporate social responsibility by supporting a local community initiative, while the lunch clubs receive the financial resources they need to continue their vital work. By partnering local businesses with community "for good" initiatives like Hackney Lunch Clubs, we can improve the ongoing funding stresses and help superb organisations like the lunch clubs continue to make a real difference to the lives of elderly people in our community.

We will keep you posted with progress on this project as it develops, but please get in contact with us if you'd like to find out more.
